I was born in Elberton, GA and have been a part of the community my entire life. I attended the Elbert County Schools and I am a 1995 graduate. Upon completion of high school I went to the University of Georgia where I completed both a Bachelor and Master degree in music education. While attending UGA I was the percussion technician and assistant band director with the Elbert County Comprehensive High School Pride in Blue Band for 6 years. After graduation from the University of Georgia, I was hired as the band director of the Elbert County Middle School (ECMS) Mighty Ram Band, a position held for 11 years. Under my leadership ECMS developed a strong middle school band program that had become known throughout the area for not only their performances, but for their character as well. I am currently in my 3rd year as Director of Bands at Calhoun Falls Charter School. I have performed on my principle instrument of percussion with Elberton First Baptist Church for their Easter and Christmas programs under the direction of the late Craig Brogdon. I have also performed with the Elberton Theater in previous programs as well as the Elbert County Community Jazz Band under the direction of Jim Altman. When I am not performing or teaching, my time is filled with the joyful pleasure of being a father to my beautiful angel baby Jaleigh Hope, Juliette Ruth, and Joyanna Clara as well as husband to my beautiful wife Jennifer Partain. We like to spend time at the beach, lake, and mountains to get away. The family and I also like to attend Lander University basketball games as well as the University of Georgia girls basketball games.
